You have cooperated with Kheirollah Taghianipour in the past. Why are you acting in 'The Colonel', which is a play with Iranian characteristics?

I acted in 'A Dream Comes True' by Taghianipour in the past. I paid attention to Iranian drama when I was studying at the university, acting with noted directors of the genre such as Abdolhay Shamasi and Siavash Tahmores. Above all, we are Iranians and should pay due attention to this valuable field. I have always been concerned why the world does not know Iranian dramas well. We have never thought about globalization of our theater and pictured a limited geography for Iranian dramas. Kheirollah Taghianipour directed 'The King Snake' by Bahram Beyzai in Azerbaijan Republic. It was welcomed warmly. This shows Iranian dramas could be promoted. The plays, which are written and directed by Taghianipour, are inspired by Iranian civilization and history. They are valuable and important for me.

The spectators have enthusiastically welcomed 'The Colonel'. Is this showing that the audience like good Iranian dramas?

The audiences are smart. They welcome good dramas. This helps promote national theater.
