Turkmenistan Puppet Theater Company at 24th Festival

'Half Ear' to Be Stage at Hamedan Fadjr Theater

'Half Ear' is a play from Turkmenistan Republic, which is competing at the 24th International Theater Festival of Children and Youth in western city of Hamedan.

The 45-minute piece is written by Hamra Shirov and directed by Elias Durdyev. The play will have performance on Tuesday at 15:00 and 17:30.

'Half Ear' is production of Turkmenistan Puppet Theater Company. It tells the story of an old man who is poor with no children. He has always wished a child. The God fulfils his wish and gives him a child. He names his son 'Half Ear (Yarti Golak)'.

Durdyev was born on July 4th, 1978 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. He studies puppet theater in Turkmen acting cultural center during 1995-1999. He has started his career in 2001 in Turkmenistan puppet theater. He has started directing plays in 2008.

The 24th International Theater Festival of Children and Youth opened on December 1. It will run until December 6 in the western city of Hamedan. Maryam Kazemi is the secretary.

Kazemi invited the children and adolescents to theater venues at the opening ceremony on Thursday, calling on them to play games, read stories and watch plays.  

Naming Hassan Kachal (bald Hassan), Rostam and Sohrab and Nokhodi as stories and heroes of her childhood, Kazemi stressed that theater is a magic, which animates stories.
