The 17th International Puppet Festival Tehran-Mobarak has invited performers to apply for the event, which will be held in the Iranian capital in September, 2018.
The International Puppet Festival Tehran-Mobarak occurs in the country every two years to get together puppetry acts from around the world. The International Puppet Festival Tehran-Mobarak is the first international theater festival after the 1979 Islamic Revolution in 1979. It is established by Dramatic arts center of Iran in 1989.
Marzieh Boroumand, director of the festival, has said in the introduction of the invitation, "We have a world of good words to tell, we want to talk about love, goodness and beauty, from peace and tranquility, security and freedom for all the humans. We want to tell of hope, of happiness, from blue sky for all the world children. We want to get together again to share our dreams and wishes in the shape of performing arts and puppetry," Iran Theater reported.
The 17th International Puppet Festival Tehran-Mobarak will focus on innovation and wonder as the characteristic of puppetry acts to draw attention of spectators as well as the consistent structure of shows and dramatic aspects of the plays.
The festival has sections of stage shows, Iran puppetry for grown-ups and children, young adults and families, nations' puppetry, outdoor puppetries, experimental shows (innovation and uniqueness), exhibition, research and education.
Artists of theater and puppetry have to submit their plots, ideas or plays, design of puppets and sketches of the set as well as filled-up applications to the secretariat by January 21, 2018. The results of those interested to take part in the stage section will be announced on February 14.
The primary review will be done on May 5, 2018.
The deadline for outdoor section is until March 6, 2018. The experimental section applicants must submit plots and ideas not later than May 10, 2018.
The festival will take place in Tehran on August 23 to 29, 2018.
It is urged to read the invitation and the conditions closely. The applicants can start registration on December 23 at the festival's website tehranmobarak.com.
