  • A Review of Plays Competing from Provinces at 36th Fadjr International Theater Festival

    20 Top Plays to Stage

    Iran Theater: The 36th Fadjr International Theater Festival will host 20 plays from the country's 20 provinces. The play had achieved top places in their province's theater festivals.

    Taking part at the international festival is one of the most important opportunities for theater groups working in provinces other than capital. It can open new doors for talents coming from provinces. This is why theater groups of provinces compete fiercely to win a place in the festival, which is the most theater events in the Middle East.  

    This year like the previous editions, theater groups competed in the theater festivals of provinces. Each province introduced the top one or two performances to the secretariat of the festival.  The jury of the section have finally chosen 20 plays from Hormuzgan, Bushehr, Sistan and Baluchestan, Arvand Free Zone, Hamedan, Kerman. East Azarbaijan, Tehran, Razavi Khorasan, Alborz, Khuzestan, Gilan, Yazd, Kermanshah, Mazandaran, Fars, Markazi, south Kerman, Ardebil and Charmahal-Bakhtiari provinces.

    The plays include 'Numbers in Desert', written by Ebrahim Poshte Koushi and directed by Mohammaz Salamati Hormuzi from Hormuzgan province, 'Singing of Fish in Lagoon', written and directed by Fazlollah Omrani from Bushehr province, 'iPhone', written and directed by Saeed Badini from Sistan-Baluchestan province,  'Ayeen Dayerezani az yek Gache Mandeh Ghafghazi', written and directed by Sajjad Tahmasbi from Hamedan province, 'Pasha', written by Akbar Shariat and directed by Nazila Yaranzad from East Azarbaijan province, 'With Burned Caravan', written by Alireza Kouhke Jalali and directed by Hamid Sajjadi from Kerman province, 'My Ultimate Loneliness', written and directed by Payman Mayabadi from Tehran province, 'Cutoffs', written and directed by Mahdi Zia'-Chamani from Razavi Khorasan province, 'Day and Bahman 60,005',  written and directed by Siavosh Alipour from Khuzestan province, 'Story of a Death in Fa-Mily', written and directed by Vahid Darvishi from Gilan province, 'Zari Sultan', written by Keramat Yazday and directed by Jafar Deldelkari from Yazd province, 'The Underground', written by Arash Abbasi, directed by Bijan Moradi from Kermanshah province, 'Turkey Soup', written by Seyed Amir Rastegar and directed by Sina Alipour from Mazandaran province, 'Seven Sea, written by Ali Delpisheh and directed by Mojtaba Ravash Mahsouli, 'Little King Lear', co-written by Mohsen and Ofogh Iraji and directed by Ofogh Iraji from Markazi province, 'Gisgol', written by Alireza Salemi and directed by Iman Salemi from south Kerman, 'God Didn't Give Two Hearts to a Man', written and directed by Akbar Sadeghi from Ardebil province, 'One Plus Two', co-written by Faraz Mahdian and Amir-Bahavar Akbarpour and directed by Amir-Bahavar Akbarpour from Charmahal-Bakhtiari province, 'Aiees', written and directed by Neda Etemadikia from Arvand Free Zone and 'Seasickness', written by Vahid Mohammadi and directed by Masoud Biglari from Alborz province.
