At 36th Fadjr International Festival

'Death Is Certain' from Germany to Have Performance

'Death Is Certain', which is directed by Eva Meyer-Keller, will take part at the 36th Fadjr International Festival.

The festival will open in Tehran on Thursday and 'Death Is Certain' will have two shows on Friday and Saturday at the offstage section of the festival at Rooberoo Mansion at 20:30.

35 cherries are laid out in lines of tender skin, soft flesh and sweet red juice. Their fate has been decided. They are bound for an inevitable and sticky end at the hands of German artist Eva Meyer-Keller.

In her performance, the cherries become her hapless victims. Her weapons are a tin of baking powder, a clothes iron, a firecracker, three darts, a roll of cling film and a cheese grater.

The performance is comical tragedy, which is unnervingly brutal.

Born in 1972, Eva Meyer-Keller is based in Berlin, Germany. Meyer-Keller has worked in the field of performance and visual art, performing in 30 countries. She studied four years at the School for New Dance Development (SNDO), Amsterdam. She is a graduate of Photography and visual art (HdK), Berlin and London (Central St. Martins and Kings College).

Meyer-Keller usually works alone and collaborated with other artists. She has a distinctive art due to her meticulous attention to details.

Arvand Dashtaray is the international director of the festival, which closes on December 29. Farhad Mohandespour is the director.
