On the Eve of 36th Fadjr International Theater Festival

Jury Members of Stage Section Announced

Jury members of three stage sections of the 36th Fadjr International Theater Festival are announced.

Secretariat of the festival, which opens on Thursday, introduced jury members of three stage sections; international and Iran theater (I and II) competition.  

International theater section will see Niklaus Helbling from Switzerland, Leman Yilmaz from Turkey, Lucia Van Heteren from the Netherlands, Behzad Ghaderi and Fatemeh Motamed Arya from Iran as members of the jury for 18 competitors.  

Born in 1959, Niklaus Helbling is a director and dramaturge. He has directed 'A midsummer night's dream' and 'Three Musketeers'. Helbling is a dramaturge at Thalia Theater Hamburg and teaches dramaturgy at Zurich and Hamburg universities.

Born in Turkey, Leman Yilmaz holds bachelor and master degrees in sociology from Boğaziçi University. She has a doctorate in dramaturgy from Istanbul University. She is the director of IKSV Festival of Istanbul. Yilmaz has penned numerous articles about theater.

Born in 1961 in the Netherlands, Lucia Van Heteren is a theater critic and director. She studied of French literature, theater, film- and television studies at Institut d'Etudes Françaises, Université d'Aix-en-Provence, Utrecht University and University of Groningen. She is a jury member of Vereniging voor Schouwburg en Concertgebouw Directies (VSCD): jury for national theatre prizes, selecting best performing actors (Louis d’Or, Theo d’Or a.o.) including selection. She has been teaching at universities of Helsinki in Finland, London and Bologna. She is a member of Theatermaker association and Theaterkrant.nl. She had been a board member of Nederlandse Kring voor Theatercritici (KNT): Dutch section of the International Association for Theatre Critics (IATC) until 2011.

Iran Theater Competition (I)

Ghorbanali Nosrat-Saber from Tajikistan, Nader Borhani-Marand and Mohsen Alikhani from Iran to judge 21 competitors of this section.

Born in 1960 in Tajikistan, Ghorbanali Nosrat-Saber studied theater and cinema acting at Dushanbe Fine Arts Faculty. He is an actor and director of Abolghasem Lahouti Theater Academy.  

Iran Theater Competition (II)

Mansour Brahimi, Hossein Mosafer-Astaneh and Shiva Masoudi will judge 22 plays of the section.

The 36th festival will close on January 29. Farhad Mohandespour is the director.
