Borhani Marand: At the festivals the Street perfromances have made people reconcile with the theater

Iran Theater- The Board of Directors of the Street Theater Society met Nader Borhanimarand, the Director of the 37th Fajr International Theater festival, who shared their requests and concerns of the Street performances.

In this meeting, Nader Borhanimrand, thanking the street performers at various festivals and reconciling theater with the theater, said: "This group of artists with limited facilities, produces plays with valuable and interesting themes and, fortunately, because of judging and watching street performances at various festivals. I'm familiar with the street performances.  Unfortunately, however, we sometimes see performances that make the idea that street plays are very easy to perform and have lost their original function. For example, sometimes performances that do not have a street theater criterion are more like a show on the street. Some of these shows do not follow popular reactions and do not yield the desired results.”

He went on to say, in response to a request from  the Board of Directors to resolve the recalls.

“In the this year recall, which has spent more than two months to prepare it, you will see a lot of changes in which many artists' requests have been answered. However, we are ready to launch a recall after the release, if we need to rectify it, so that we can witness productive festivals.”

The members of the board of directors also discussed the problems of the artists that they have not even had a place to change clothes for their performances, Therefore, it was decided to review and resolve such issues. It was also stipulated that the members of the Board of Directors will present the needs and facilities of street performers for high performances to the Secretariat of the Fajr Theater Festival.
