Ali Abedi To Iran Theater:

I looked at war from different angle

Iran Theater- Tiola is a play that has an anti- war theme and is followed by The Gadfly, Ali Abedi's last play.

Iran Theater- Ali Abedi studied theater. He has directed many plays in his career.

.Ali Abedi, the writer and director of Tiola, told the Iranian theater correspondent, "This play has an anti-war theme and is based on the Gothic spaces. I wrote it about two years ago and previously presented in the dramatic literature section of the previous period of the Fajr Theater Festival. I gave a present to the dramatic literature section of the Fadjr International Theater Festival last year. Since every artist is always busy pursuing the perimeter of the world in which he lives, in my opinion, the element of war today is one of the most important elements that occupy the world around us and in our lives we constantly deal with this word. Therefor with this kind of concern, the theme of Tiola is inspired by such incidents in the contemporary world.”

Ali Abedi explains the Concept of  Tiola:” As I mentioned, the atmosphere of the  play is somewhat closer to grotesque and humorous. The fact is that the theme of war can be pursued from a different angle; some or maybe a lot of artists put the tragic background of war on their work, But in the play, I looked at the war from a different angel and wanted to put this fierce and terrible word in the Fantasy and Grotesque atmosphere so that the audience could accept this pattern more easily.”

In the end, he points out the features of directing Tiola:”In fact, the "Tiola"follows the atmosphere of my pervious  works such as "The Gadfly" and "Wedding in the Shadows, though I think it's somewhat deeper and more complete than them. Perhaps the world of my previous work was closer to fantasy; world of Tiola is more in depth, and style of directing the characters development has become somewhat more complete.”
