Marzieh Boroumand : Tomorrow is a bright day and the sky of puppets is blue

Iran Theater- The press conference of the 17^th Tehran-Mobarak International Puppet Festival was held with the participation of Marzieh Boroumand, Director, and Peyman Shariati,  executive Director of the Festival in Tehran.

At the beginning of her talks, Marzieh Boroumand, referring to the latest circumstance in the Country, said: "I was worried about holding the festival in the first place, but later I came to the conclusion that this is a pleasant thing, and there is no way for a culture of climb and hope for a better tomorrow . We are working and planning for nearly a year. If I count, at least 1,200 people attend the festival, of which more than 60% are women, which I think is an interesting statistic.”

She added:” As a result, we have seen a good and qualitative growth in the festival in these three Editions. In particular, we see a significant increase in the quality of the plays of different cities in the country other than Tehran.”

 

She announced the retrospective of festival in this year:” We would celebrate three artists from all over Iran that do not mention their names to remain a surprise.”

Then she continued: This year, in spite of financial difficulties, we provided the conditions for the participation of the Afghanistan group in the festival. I want to point out to Tramp and those who support him that these restrictions directly harm people and even cultural institutions. So do not say that you are thinking about people, but we are prospective  people. Tomorrow is bright and sky of the puppets is blue.”

 

Peyman Shariati, the deputy executive director of the festival, which expressed hope that there would be interesting events in this edtion, said :” during this edtion, we  will have special attention to students. Adding a student Section We hope that in addition to giving attention to the education department, the conditions for the discovery of new talent will also be provided.
