Mama Yerma is a production of Khallaq (creative) Theater Group. The play uses 'defamiliarization', an artistic technique of presenting common things in an unfamiliar or strange way in order to enhance perception of the familiar.
The story is a tragic account of childlessness. Though originally a realistic play, Nobarani presents it in a surrealist setting using symbolism and minimalism in the work. The play is 70 minutes long. Cast members in order of appearance are Amir Farahani, Shabnam Eskandari, Farzad Brahman, Abbas Alireza, Melina Qadimi and Soheyl Qena'ati.
