“king lear” will go on stage on November

Iran Theater- Masoud Delkhah, well-known stage director and actor, announced “King Lear” will go on stage later at this month.

He said to Iran Theater That after a long delay in the performance of King lear, this show will be on stage  since November at the main hall of Tehran’s city Theater Complex. He added that Mehdi Soltani as King lear, Bahare Rahnma ,Elham Paveh Nejad and Mahbobeh Tafazoli as Three daughters of King Lear, Naser Ashuri as Clown will star in “King Lear”. The other cast include Rahim Norouzi, Khosrow Shahraz,Hamid Reza Hedayati, Sajad Babai,Mohamad Sadeghi.

Shima Mir Hamidi as Costume designer,Maria Hajiha as Make-up artist will cooperate with Masoud Delkhah,

Massoud Delkhah, who plays a role in  “Deldadeghan” By  Manouchehr Hadi which is broadcasting  on the TV network these days, answered the question why he does not play the role of King Lear.”

“There is no actor in the world (especially at the age of fifty) who does not like to play lear, and I also had a passion. The main reason I did not play is  the big production, and there are about 100 actors and crew in the show, which is why I preferred to concentrate on directing.”

He said about  the style of  performance: " It’s a modern approach to Shakespeare's text,  music has a key role, and in a way it can be said that the show is a semi-musical. There is also a deconstruction in the play  with a modern approach  and  postmodern touch. There are also modern elements in  text.”
