Setareh Eskandari to Produce Ali Rafiee’s The House of Bernarda Alba

Iran Theater- Setareh Eskandari, famous stage, cinema and T.V actress will be producer of  new adaptation of The House of Bernarda Alba by Ali Rafiee.

She has previously had acted in "It does not Snow in Egypt", "Romeo and Juliet," "Shazdeh Ehtejab" and "Fox Hunting" directed by Dr. Ali Rafiee.

Roohullah Zandi Fard is also the executive producer of the " The House of Bernarda Alba " and "Iran Namayesh"  website  manager  Mohammad Hussein Totunchian will be the financer.

                                                                             

The House of Bernarda Alba (Spanish: La casa de Bernarda Alba) is a play by the Spanish dramatist Federico García Lorca. Commentators have often grouped it with Blood Wedding and Yerma as a "rural trilogy". Lorca did not include it in his plan for a "trilogy of the Spanish land" (which remained unfinished at the time of his murder).

 

Lorca described the play in its subtitle as a drama of women in the villages of Spain.

Born in 1938 in Isfahan, Rafiei got a Ph.D. in theater from Sorbonne University in France in 1974. Ali Rafiei is the director of the acclaimed plays “Fox Hunting”, “It Does Not Snow in Egypt”, “Crime and Punishment”, “Blood Wedding”, “The Maids”, and “Nightmares and Memories of a Bath Attendant about the Life and Murder of Amir Kabir”.

 

Rafiei is also the director of two movies, “The Fish Fall in Love” (2006) and “Mr. Yusef” (2011). He previously directed “Blood Wedding” and “Yerma” by Federico García Lorca on stage. His trilogy will be completed by The House of Bernarda Alba.
