Shahab Omarai: “Amil and Mamil” is based on a verbal story

Iran Theater- “Amil and Mamil” is written and directed by Shahb Omarai has been on stage during Fadjr Theater Festival. It compete in “Iran 2” section and the story is based on a verbal story from  Lorestan province.

Shahab Omarai  is a veteran playwright and stage director which had directed “Overdose” recently.

He said about “Amil and Mamil”:” The story of this show is based on the  verbal story  of the Lorestan area; The folkloric story  that the elders narrated in thelong nights of winter. On the other hand, we tells the story of a modern girl in Lorestan, and two stories  are told  parallel, and although the stories are separate from one another, the atmosphere and and signs are one.”

He continued :” Realistic scenes from ordinary and everyday life and a fantasy space formed in the heart of realism, which is believable for the audience.”

This artist predicted the reception of this show at the Fajdr festival: “Considering my recognition of Tehran and the Lerestani people whom live in Tehran, for many of them, it is attractive to watch a show based on a Folkloric story, on the other hand, I guess that we should have a great audience because of  form of show.”
