Ramin Karimloo Signs On to Play Jean Valjean in West End's Les Miserables

Ramin Karimloo will join the West End cast of Les Miserables as Jean Valjean on November 29 at the Queen's Theatre. Karimloo previously made his West End debut in the production playing Feuilly, and later Enjolras, a role he reprised in the show's 25th anniversary concert at London's 02 Arena last year. Karimloo, who will replace Alfie Boe, is set to remain in Les Miz through March 3, 2012.

Karimloo has appeared on the West End in Love Never Dies and The Phantom of the Opera. He has also toured the U.K. in productions of Sunset Boulevard and Miss Saigon. Karimloo recently headlined The Phantom of the Opera's 25th anniversary production at London's Royal Albert Hall.
Les Miserables features music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel and additional material by James Fenton. The production was adapted and directed by Trevor Nunn and John Caird.
The London cast of Les Miserables also features Hadley Fraser as Javert, Caroline Sheen as Fantine, Alexia Khadime as Eponine, Craig Mather as Marius, Cameron Blakely as Thénardier, Katy Secombe as Madame Thénardier, Liam Tamne as Enjolras and Lisa-Anne Wood as Cosette.
