From Isfahan to Poland in Outdoor Space of Puppet Festival

“Song of Sun & Moon”, a Symbol of Creation

The “Song of Sun & Moon”, which tells the story of creation, is welcomed by the Iranian audience.

The open door section of the Mobarak-Tehran International Festival hosted four shows including “The Bald Hero Will Remain Bald”, “Game Case”, “The Left-Overs” and “Song of Sun & Moon”, irantheater.ir reported.

“The Bald Hero Will Remain Bald”, which is written by Nasrin Asadi and directed by Navid Saffarian from Tehran, was staged for children, young adults and the grown-ups.

Shahram Khanpour was the puppet performer of the show. The director used thread puppet, glove puppet and costume puppet.

“The Bald Hero Will Remain Bald” is the story of the bald hero, who decides to marry. But his condition for marriage is to grow hair. The show insists that the true identity of humans must not change to be a person, who are not them anymore.

The show will be played on Friday and Saturday on the outdoor space of the City Theater and Artists Forum, respectively.

“Game Case” by Omida Ojaghi from Isfahan is also present. The show targets the common audience. Its executive technique is like a toy box, using the traditional Iranian puppetry and glove puppet.

A master and his apprentice are seen arguing over a lost watch. The story has a process wherein Mobarak will misjudge and then would find out his mistake later.

The story revolves around respect to the grown-ups and not to judge hastily.

Mohammad Khajeh Ali-Ashtari and Majid Bijani are the actors of the puppetry. Zahra Bashir Alizadeh, Fatemeh Qasemi, Davoud Amininejad and Majid Bijani are the puppet performers.

The puppet show will be performed on the outdoor space of Artists Forum.

“The Left-Overs” by Kayvan Nakhaei was the nxt puppetry. The show is devoted to the environment protection. A bottle and paper are seen protesting the people because they put the environment at risk.

The play is performed by Seyyed Hadi Ataei, Elaheh Pourjamshid and Mohammad Nouhian. The puppetry is for young adults and grown-ups.

“The Left-Overs” will be performed in the outdoor spaces of the City Theater and Artists Forum on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.

The other performance was “Song of Sun & Moon” by Victor Victorevski from Poland. It was welcomed by the audience. The puppetry does not have any dialogue but could connect with the audience well. The play was the symbol and sign of creation and the constant antagonism between day and night.

“Song of Sun & Moon” shows the passage of time from this world to the other world, life to death and the birth again.

Mehdi Shafiei, Marzieh Boroumand, Payman Shariati and Zahra Sabri watched the play.

“Song of Sun & Moon” will be performed in the outdoor space of the City Theater on Thursday.
