A Place Where Dead Bones Talk

Iran Theater – Behnam Habibi: In a village in Ireland, it is a tradition to disinter old bones from the over-flowing churchyard and broke them.

Mick is doing his responsibility to exhume the skeletons of those who were buried in the graves more than seven years. The story starts when Mary, an old friend of Mick, comes to his house. She comes to visit him and have wine together. The old woman often complains of weird and unbelievable beliefs of young girls and boys. She tries to show herself off as a pious and religious person. But Mick makes fun of her for contestant gambling. What is the reason behind Mary’s visit?...

“A Skull in Connemara” is a crime story with characters who shows that they are cunning but they are simple by nature and do not look into matters of their lives with sophistication.

The director of “A Skull in Connemara” presents an acceptable piece. The combination of events and dialogues needs more act to fill the gap created in the mind of audience to unveil the truth. Dermatology of the show creates an illusionary atmosphere, which is full of good suspension. More emphasis was needed on words, dialogues and stage movements to get the show out of its dullness…

The cast are really good. They act very well. They have understood their characters well. They do their best to present their roles. But dermatology in expression could have had more ups and downs to involve them more into the stage.

Set design and accessories are real and good. The director has ultimately used the accessories which helps the show move smoothly. The visual and audio effects have increased the attractions. But it needed more lights, music and realistic effects.
