Maryam Kazemi to Direct a New Translation of a Famous Comedy

Maryam Kazemi says Independent Theater Group has begun rehearsing a play for the adults.

Maryam Kazemi, noted theater director, said that she would direct a well-known play by a renowned playwright this year, irantheater.ir reported.

She explained she had translated the play herself and its rehearsal had started by members of Independent Theater Group and some renowned actors.

Ms Kazemi, who heads Independent Theater Group, said that she had so far directed pieces for children and adults but the new play would have grown-ups as audience.

“In addition to plays performed by our troupe for children and adolescents, Independent Theater Group has staged pieces for adults with its own performance style,” the director said. “It is a style, which can attract all age groups and audience of different tastes,” she added.

The group’s “The Taming of the Shrew” welcomed by theater-goers warmly in the past.

Ms Kazemi explained that the new play was a comedy and musical, aiming to create joyful moments for the spectators with the troupe’s style.

The director of “Ugly Princess” added that further details would be released soon.
