Elham Shabani about Design of "Not So Blind Owl":

Eccentric but Different

"Not So Blind Owl" is written and directed by Mohammad Ali Sajjadi. Elham Shabani is its costume designer.

Elham Shabani said about her design that she had read Sadegh Hedayat's "Blind Owl" and loved it.

"It was interesting for me that Mohammad Ali Sajjadi had a new approach towards the story with his "Not So Blind Owl"," she said and added that designing the costume of the play with more characters and different environment had been an attractive challenge for me, Iran Theater reported.

Ms Shabani explained that the characters attracted her although there had been many characters in the play, just one character did not change and the rest had changed.

"When I asked Mr Sajjadi why it was like that, he explained that he just wanted to show that characters had been one and this made me encouraged to show the change in character through costume," the designer said.

She stressed that her cooperation with Mr Sajjadi, a cinema director, author and painter, was amazing for her as she admired his movies in cinema.

Ms Shabani said that the characters had been eccentric but different and Mr Sajjadi knew the colors very well because he was a painter, adding that she designed costumes in way that could be changed throughout the play easily as the actors and actresses had little time between each scene.

Masoud Keramati, Rahim Norouzi, Elham Nami and Nazanin Karim play in "Not So Blind Owl."
