Tehran to Host “Future of Provinces’ Theater”

A meeting to put on debate the future of theater in provinces will be held in Tehran next week with the participations of heads of branches of Iran Association of Performing Arts, deputy artistic affairs of culture and Islamic guidance departments and their theater experts.

The meeting is a continuation of a series of talks about reform in bylaws of associations of performing arts to help hold free elections to elect their heads, Iran Theater reported.

Also, it is aimed at balancing theater activities in provinces, improving their theater management as well as giving an equal chance to theater in provinces and the capital Tehran.

Deputy culture and Islamic guidance minister for artistic affairs, Ali Moradkhani, deputy minister for management and resource development, Ali Asghar Karandish, ministry’s managing director for provincial affairs, Mohammad Mehdi Ahmadi, managing director of ministry’s office for renovation, Mohammad Ali Khosrawi, as well as other deputies of the ministry will attend the meeting.

Some panel discussions on single-purpose theater institutes, private theaters, provincial memorandum of understandings on supervision and evaluation are planned. The gathering will take place in the capital on July 16th and 17th.
