“The Miser” Opens

“The Miser”, which is directed by Maryam Kazemi, opens on Friday with the participation of members of media and photographers.

The first performance of “The Miser” starts at 20:30 at Pardis Theater complex and will be attended by media people, critics and photographers, Iran Theater reported.

“The Miser” will be performed by Freewill Theater Company, which is translated by Maryam Kazemi.

The cast members of “The Miser”, is translated by Maryam Kazemi, are busy rehearsing the play in Pardis Tehran Theater Complex, Iran Theater reported, adding that joining of Houman Rahnamoun would complete the team.

Cast members include Houman Rahnamoun, Hossein Moheb-Ahari, Jamshid Jahanzadeh, Afshin Zarei, Milad Ramezani (Varjavand), Erfan Maydanlou, Hesam Kalantari, Nazanin Safa, Mehrdad Zamani, Fatemeh Khodabandelou, Saeed Qarehdaghli, Hassan Hemmati, Mehdi Ramezani, Shadi Karayeen, Narges Safamanesh, Somayeh Beigi, Saeed Taheri, Majid Mozafari, Tania Zare’, Amir Fallahirad, Iman Masoud, Parsa Sohani, Shaghayegh Aslani, Pedram Qarekhani, Bita Ettefagh, Sama Ahmadi and Saba Karimian. 

 
Other members are set designer: Reza Mahdizadeh, costume designer: Mojgan Eivazi, mast and makeup designer: Afsaneh Qolizadeh, music: Farid Navaei, poster designer: Hajir Mehravaran, assistant director: Samira Mahdavi, Azita Khorrami, Mehrdad Zamani, planner: Mehrdad Zamani, manager of orchestra: Farid Navaei, instrument players: Amir Soleimani, Benyamin Qahraman, Aida Niyati, Sahar Baghdadi, Alireza Torabi, Hamid Torabi, Hiva Mahmoudzadeh Darbandi and chorus: Mahnaz Ghamkhar, Adel Miresmaili, Mahsa Gorgin and Mehrdad Zamani.

The child and adolescent actors and actresses are Amir Ali Banihashem, Baran Khosronejad, Mani Moshefi and Farimah Kayhani.

The group has so far staged “The Taming of the Shrew” by William Shakespeare, “Ugly Princess”, “Mah Pishouni” and “Auntie Marjan and Rooster”. The performances had been warmly welcomed by theater-goers in the past.

Ms Kazemi had explained earlier in April that the new play would be a comedy and musical, aiming to create joyful moments for the spectators with a touch by the troupe’s style.

A five-act comedy in prose, “The Miser” is written by the French playwright Molière. It was first performed on September 9, 1668, in the theatre of the Palais-Royal in Paris.

“The Miser” will be staged at 20:30 every day except at Pardis Tehran Theater Complex.
