Culture Minister: “Seven Days of Tir (June) 1981” Is Part of Nation’s Political Life

Minister of culture and Islamic guidance opened an exhibition of works of late theater and cinema actor, Davoud Rashidi.

Speaking to the reporters on the sideline of the exhibition on Sunday, Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri said that “Seven Days of Tir (June) 1981”, a played he watched at Sayeh Hall on the opening day, was touchable by him and many of his generation, Iran Theater reported.
“I reviewed minutes of my political life when I was watching “Seven Days of Tir (June) 1981”,” said the minister, believing that Iran owed its life to the blood sacrificed by those killed on an explosion on June 28, 1981.

Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini Beheshti, a jurist, cleric and politician who was known as the second person in the political hierarchy of Iran after the 1979 Islamic Revolution was martyred in the explosion. He was assassinated along with more than 70 members of the Islamic Republic Party.

Mohammad Larati and Kamran Shahlaei are performing “Seven Days of Tir (June) 1981” in Sayeh Hall of Tehran City Theater Complex. The 90-minute play, which opened on June 28, tells a true story of one of the crisis of Iran’s contemporary history.

Amin Sayyardashti, Farzin Mohades, Mojgan Khaleghi, Farhad Tafreshi, Ahmad Jafari and Hedieh Rezaei will star in the 80-minute play.

Ali Nasr is production director, Saeed Hasanlou set designer, Elaheh Hajizadeh media advisor, Sina Afshar graphic designer, Shahin Rahmanali lighting designer and Ali Sina Rezania the composer.

“Seven Days of Tir (June) 1981” has performance every day except for Saturdays at 20:30 until July 14.

The minister also praised Davoud Rashidi because of his artistic career, saying that many members of Iran theater community were positively influenced by his efforts in theater.

The exhibition opened on July 16 in the City Theater Compex to pay tribute to Davoud Rashidi on his 84th birth anniversary of the late cinema and theater actor.

Ehteram Boroumand, wife of the late Davoud Rashidi, told ISNA earlier this month that the exhibition was planned last year on the 40th day of his death but it was delayed due to Shia Muslims’ mourning months of Moharram and Safar.

The exhibition including Mr Rashidi’s personal effects, statutes, awards, theater posters, photos, and handwritings, will close on August 27, the death anniversary of the late Iranian actor.
