Lahijan 8th Shahrvand Street Theater Festival Introduces Jury Members

Executive director of Lahijan 8th Shahrvand Street Theater Festival said that Qotbeddin Sadeghi, Kourosh Zarei and Nader Borhani Marand were introduced as jury members.

Negar Naderi said that Lahijan 8th Shahrvand Street Theater Festival opens on Wednesday, August 16 “Desire for Peace”, Iran Theater reported.

The street performances of the festival will take place in densely-populated neighborhoods and streets of the northern city, she said, adding that Besat Park would be the venue for judging the plays in the competition section. Two street plays in the morning and three in the evening will be reviewed by the members of the jury.

15 performances will compete in the festival while five plays would be reviewed by the jury members in children section, Ms Naderi said, adding that Honar Park would be the venue for judging the pieces.

The works would be judged based on their true recognition of street theater, their quality, communication with audience on citizenship subjects.

The festival had two stages. 310 ideas and plots from 25 provinces submitted to the secretariat of the festival of which 75 plots qualified in the first step. In second step, the jury announced 15 plays for competition and five in children section.

The subjects of the festival include citizenship, theme of the year, social disorders and encouraging the book reading.

Northern city of Lajihan will host the festival from August 16 to 19.
