27th Khorasan Razavi Province Theater Festival Closes

'Hazfiat' & 'Sorena' Introduced to Fadjr International Theater Festival

The 27th Khorasan Razavi Province Theater Festival closed on late Monday with the participation of provincial artists and officials in Mashhad City Theater Complex.

Winners of the awards were introduced during the ceremony, Iran Theater reported.
Head of Khorasan Razavi Performing Arts Association said at the closing ceremony that 90 plays were submitted to the secretariat, which showed a 15-percent growth compared to the previous edition.  
Seyyed Javad Eshkezari added that 60 out of 90 submissions took part in the review section of which about 55 reviews and 11 finally competed in the festival.
Mr Eshkezari said that six pieces participated in new experience section, nine in environmental shows and 'Swimming in Fire', directed by Reza Saberi, as guest.
"I am happy that we have seen a 50-percent increase in submissions in general compared to the last year," he said.
Meanwhile, in the main competition section, which was judged by Nader Borhani-Marand, Kourosh Narimani and Arash Dadgar, 'Hazfiat', directed by Mahdi Zia'chamani, and 'Sourena', directed by Amin Rezaei Ardani, were introduced to the 36th Fadjr International Theater Festival.
Amin Rezaei Ardani awarded as the best director for directing 'Sourena', followed by Arash Dadgar for 'Hazfiat' and Ehsan Aghel for 'Sound of Silence'.  
'Sourena' received the best actor award with Mohammad Jahanpa and Vahid Abbasi awarded the joint prizes. Ehsan Dabir received the third best actor for starring in 'Sourena'.
