Tribute to Ehteram Boroumand & Abbas Doustqarin in Hamedan

The 24th International Theater Festival of Children and Youth will pay tribute to Ehteram Boroumand and Abbas Doustqarin in Hamedan.

The closing ceremony will be held on Wednesday in the western city, paying tribute to Ehteram Boroumand, television and radio presenter, voice artist and Abbas Doustqarin, children playwright and filmmaker, Iran Theater reported.

Born in 1947 in Tehran, Ehteram Boroumand is a television and radio presenter, voice artist and storyteller. She started her career in Omid Institute in the field of children in 1964 after her graduation from the Education Ministry. She started her job in the national television simultaneously and presenting for children for more than a decade. Her voice was recorded on cassettes in 1980 to read "Dandelion", "Children Spring" and "Hello Children". She has starred in movies such as 'I Saw Your Dad Last Night Aida' by Rasoul Sadrameli, 'When I Came Back' by Vahid Mousaian, 'Silence' by George Hashemzadeh, 'The Salesman' by Asghar Farhadi. She has recorded 100 stories in 'Stories and Tales' by Mostafa Rahmandoust.

Abbas Doustqarin was born in 1971. She is a playwright and filmmaker. He has started his career in making short stories in Hamedan youth cinema in 1986. He has started writing plays for children in 1991. He has also begun direction in the state television in 1999. He has been teaching filmmaking, creative drama and playwriting in cultural complexes and other centers. Doustqarin has received many awards from national festivals.

The 24th International Theater Festival of Children and Youth opened on December 1. It will run until December 6 in the western city of Hamedan. Maryam Kazemi is the secretary.
