Bushehr Province Theater Festival Closes

A ceremony to close Bushehr Province Theater Festival closed in the southern city of Bushehr with the participation of director of Iran Performing Arts Association.

Armaghan Behdarvand attended the ceremony at Haj Raees Café in one of the historic neighborhoods of the port city, Iran Theater reported.

Atabak Naderi, director of provincial theater affairs of the Dramatic Arts Center, Hamideh Mawhoozi, Bushehr culture and Islamic guaidance department director general, Jahanshir Yarahmadi, head of province's Performing Arts Association, and a group of artists unveiled the stamp of the festival.

Behdarvand said that the third edition of Bushehr festival was a fulfillment of a promise by Dramatic Arts Center to the artists of the province over the past months.

"One of demands of theater artists was that part of the Fadjr Theater Festival to be held in provinces too," Behdarvand said. "We are happy that the demand is fulfilled with the support of Culture Ministry's Dramatic Arts Center."

Stressing that a celebration of dialogue is the theme of the upcoming Fadjr Festival, he said, "We, all, know that how much the place of dialogue is weak in our social interactions."

He hoped that theater, as an art, which creates dialogue, will help improve attitude and destiny of the people.

Theater experts Leila Ghaffari, Abbas Shahmohammadzadeh and head of National Theater Critics Association Mehdi Nasiri were praised during the ceremony.

"Dramatic Art in Busher, a book written by Jahanshir Yarahmadi, was unveiled while the ceremony paid tribute to some theater artists of the province.
