Banipal Shoomoon to Iran Theater:

Real Madrid 11-Barcelona 1, an adaptation of 'Señora Carrar's Rifles'

Iran Theater: Banipal Shoomoon is a graduate of civil engineering. He finished acting at Cinema Theater School with high distinction. He graduated from an acting master class under supervision of internationally-acclaimed Iranian director Asghar Farhadi in 2000s.

He starred at 'The Girl of Long Night', 'Magic and Talisman', 'Metamorphosis', 'Misunderstanding', 'Number 91913', 'No one's at Home' and 'Ireland Should not Be a Bad Place'.

Shoomoon told Iran Theater that he was busy these days in playing in 'Real Madrid 11-Barcelona 1', which is written and directed by Seyyed Mahdi Shojaei. The show will continue by March at Pardise Shahrzad Theater Complex.

Shoomoon said that he was playing the role of a revolutionary man in Spain in 1930s when they were fighting against Franco's dictatorship. "He is an idealistic person with attractive and positive character who was trying to plan a coup d'état against dictatorship. He is a charismatic and individualist like Ernesto Che Guevara."

He explained that the show was an adaptation of 'Señora Carrar's Rifles', a one-act play by the twentieth-century German dramatist Bertolt Brecht, adding that the whole story is about a woman who does not let her son to go to war for the fear of his life.

Amir Hossein Fathi, Misagh Zare', Elham Shabani, Morvarid Jafari, Fatemeh Baharmast, Arash Ashadad and Sina Razani are other cast members, Shoomoon said.  

About his career this year, he said that he has had a prolific year, playing in 'Jadeh Ghadim' and 'Don't Be Embarresed', which are taking part at the 36th Fajr International Film Festival as well as 'Too Much Solitude', directed by Kaveh Ahaninjan, and 'Lasaro', directed by Masoud Rayegan' at Iranshahr Theater Complex.
