Mysterious Gift" to stage at Tehran-Mobarak International Puppet Fest

Iran Theater- "The Mysterious Gift" written by Attasa Shamlou and directed by Meysam Yousefi will be on stage at Tehran-Mobarak International Puppet Festival.

Iran Theater- "The Mysterious Gift" written by Attasa Shamlou  and directed by Meysam Yousefi will be on stage at Tehran-Mobarak International Puppet Festival.

The mysterious gift "is the adaptation of Samuel Marshak's" Twelve Months ", which adopted by Attasa Shamloo.

 The Synopsis is : At the birthday of the princes, beadles announce in the city that  everyone who can bring the spring primrose to the prince on Yalda night to win a golden basket. Bahra’s stepmother forced her to go to the woods in winter and bring primrose.

Meysam Yousefi ,Director,   says that in the original play, the story goes back to 12 months, but we  only have  two seasons and four months in Mysterious Gift . Also, Christmas and cultural relations of Marshak ‘s society have become adopted to the Iranian  tradition  such as the Yalda night .  A character,Naneh Sarma has also been added.

Meysam Yousefi considers the characteristics of this play: Destiny , the beginning of the journey and its experiences, human struggle with nature and familiarity with the moon and season.

"Mysterious Gift" has a combined Techniques :Tabletop Puppetry , shadow doll, and Bonerco with performers .

17th International Puppet Festival will  take place  on August 23rd - 29th, 2018.
