Elika Abdolrazzaghi to Iran Theater:

I encourage movie actors to play in the show

Iran Theater- Elika Abdolrazzaghi is a famous Iranian cinema and television actress who has acted in "Biography of a Game" directed by Bourjin Abdolrazzaghi, which is on stage at the fourth wall theater.

She believes that top movie players and theater performers can definitely be a successful combination."Biography of a Game"  is based on a Max Frisch’s play.

Tell us a little about the "Biography of a Game" show?

-The show "Biography of a game" is very strange and interesting for me. Whenever I want to explain it to someone, I myself start to analyze the characters in the middle of the conversation and every time I find out new secrets of the characters. This play is timeless and can always be talked about.

What about Antoinette's character?

Antoinette has various charms that become clearer each time during the performance and I explore more about her. Basically, we are dealing with an attractive woman who entered a man's life because of her intellectual concerns.

She wants to do different things, be independent and make decisions, but no one asks her opinion or makes any decisions during the story. In fact, we are constantly watching the biography of the man in the relationship or talking about him until finally the important and firm decision is made by the woman , that is Antoinette. Until now, Antoinette is known only as a woman who is attractive, witty and emotional. She seems to have a superficial character and we slowly understand the depth of her character.

How successful are theater players in cinema?

- Unfortunately, there is a misconception about cinema and television productions, that whenever the acting is exaggerated and bad, they say that they are acting theatrically. If someone plays badly, he must be a bad actor. If someone exaggerates too much in the TV frame; It does not know the medium.

Mediums change on the stage and in front of the camera, otherwise the theater scene is not much different from television for an actor. For example, if I were to speak in front of the camera with the voice I have on the theater stage, the sound designer would be deaf and could not record the sound. We have brilliant theater actors who have always been, are and will be successful in cinema. Our theater superstars came to the cinema and shined. Even now, in the new generation of movie actors, there are theater stars who shine. Sometimes this mistake happens that they think that if someone acts exaggeratedly, he has acted theatrically, and this makes one heartbroken. In my opinion, with shame, this kind of talk and judgment is due to lack of education, because such a thing cannot be referred to the theater at all.

The foundation of cinema and television is theater. As actors, we experienced acting, movement, expression and feeling on the theater stage. Even if we are an average actor on television, it is because we are trained in theater and perform on television.

Have movie stars been able to be successful on stage?

- I am one of those who encourage movie actors to enter the theater. First, because the stage experience is very good. Smart and top-notch actors from the cinema have entered the theater and shined, and of course there have been movie stars who have not achieved success on the stage.
