The Koreans on the Spot Light

The 3rd day of the 14th International Ritual-Traditional Theater Festival The festival has reached midway point. However, the enthusiasm of the spectators has not deadened yet and it eases off the reporters’ exhaustion. The following is a brief report on the 3rd day of the festival:

Taking Photo

Representing the Korean rituals, acrobatic and warlike actions, the performance called “Karma”, from South Korea, received rapturous standing ovation for 10 minutes. At the end the actors invited the public to take photo with them on the stage.

The Book and the Music Went on Sale

The Korean troupe sold the DVD and the book of their production before its performance. The book was highly qualified and included some photos and explanations on the production, which was widely welcomed by the spectators.

Yesterday, at the main venue of the city theater, there were some Koreans among the spectators, who had come from the Korean embassy to encourage and acclaim their compatriots.

The Strong Presence of the Public

Although the festival has reached midway point, the enthusiasm of the public has not lessened. The surprising point is the presence of the commonalty and ordinary people who were rarely coming to theater so far. But it is to be regretted that the usual theater goers, who could regarded these works as a source of inspiration, have weak presence.

Last Days of the Festival

Two performances of the International section from India and Hong Kong and 6 Iranian plays of the Stage section will be performed on the 5th day of the festival.

The first venue of the Iranshahr Theater witnesses “Shadow Theater” from China at 19 and “Cho Bangali” by Sanjay Coumar Mahato, from India, is being presented through six days of the festival at the second venue of this theater.

The 14th International Ritual-Traditional Theater Festival will come to an end on Aug 16 at the Niavaran Foundation of the Artistic Creations.
