Head of 24th Edition Says:

Over 420 Plays Submitted to Children & Youth Theater Festival

Fazel Ebadi, head of the 24th Children and Youth Theater Festival, said that more than 420 plays were submitted to the event, which will be hold in Hamedan in November, showing a 25-percent growth compared to the previous edition.

The official said that a total 429 plays were submitted to take part in the street, small children, children, and adolescent, play writing and student sections, Iran Theater reported.

On the statistics, he said that 169 pieces in street, 72 small children, 63 in children, 49 in adolescent, 67 in play writing and nine in student sections reached the secretariat of the festival.

Mr Ebadi explained that eight plays in street, six in small children, eight in children, eight in adolescent, three or five in student and eight plots in play writing sections would be chosen to take part in the festival in final review.

He added that student section was restricted to schoolchildren in Hamedan province and groups from Hamedan, Touyserkan, Razan and Malayer had submitted pieces.

Mr Ebadi said that 344 plays had been submitted to the 23rd edition of the festival, adding that this showed a 25-percent growth in the upcoming event and increase in enthusiasm of artists.
