Culture minister said that sacred defense (1980-88 Iran-Iraq war) had different dimensions that should be known.
"We should not build walls against innovations. Let's people try new tastes in the field of sacred defense," said Seyyed Abbas Salehi, minister of culture and Islamic guidance.
Speaking at the gathering on Friday, the minister said that given that attention was diverted to the women field, they had been the layer of the society, which their sacrifices had not been seen as it deserved.
The officials said that many subjects on the sacred defense had not been focused on in an eight-year war, which had created many events and displacement of the people as well as the role of religious minorities. He added that many dimensions of that was had not been pictured yet.
Mr Salehi said that the sacred defense could bring about fresh moves and approaches and was hoped that it could preserve Iran and human values, "God willing as sacred defense has its diverse human values that could talk to the world through that window".
Four experts talked about cinema, culture, media and art in four panel discussions before the minister's speech.
Mostafa Razzagh Karim, documentary maker, Manouchehr Mohammadi, cinema producer, Mohammad Hossein Mahdavian, film director talked about cinema in the first panel discussion on cinema. Alireza Rezadad was the moderator.
