A Cast of Young & Veteran Artists Sign of a Dynamic Theater

Mahdi Shafiee lit up the candle of the play to symbolically start the piece on Friday, Iran Theater reported.

Mr Shafiee said before the start of the play that he was happy that ‘The Colonel’ was having sold-out performance at the main auditorium of the City Theater Complex with a cast of young and veteran theater artists of the country following ‘The Confession’, which was directed by Shahab Hosseini and starred by noted actor Ali Nasirian and enthusiastically welcomed by the audience.

He added that presence of a young group of actors besides veteran artists show that theater in Iran was dynamic. The official hoped that ‘The Colonel’ would receive warm spectator welcome in the coming days.

‘The Colonel’ is about Aziz, a 35-year-old, young man from a rich Qajar family who has ambition to rule Tehran.

Golab Adineh, noted actress, Hossein Mosafer Astaneh, director and playwight, Afshin Hashemi, director and actor, Salar Aghili, Persian music singer, Javad Ezzati, actor, Mahlagha Bagheri, actress and Payman Shariati, director of the City Theater Complex, watched ‘The Colonel’ as guest audience.   

Hossein Pakdel, Shahram Haghighatdoust, Atabak Naderi, Cyrus Hemmati, Arash Asefi, Mona Farjad, Atiyeh Javid, Mostafa Sassani, Javad Pourzand, Vahid Nafar, Alireza Nasehi, Elaheh Shahparast, Hossein Shafiee, Mohammad Shokri, Siamak Toudeh-Fallah, Mohsen Mehri, Anahita Khosrawi, Samira Salimi, Zaynab Qamari, Milad Ebrahimi, Mahyar Tahmasbi, Hamed Badiee, Negar Jafari, Sarvenaz Jamshidi, Amir Baadbedast and Aysan Haddad are the cast.

Salar Aghili has song some tracks for 'The Colonel'. Babak Zarrin is the composer.
