‘The Good Soldier Švejk's’ Performance to Ali Ashraf Darvishian

Hamid Reza Naimi dedicated ‘The Good Soldier Švejk's’ performance to late Iranian story writer and scholar Ali Ashraf Darvishian, who passed away on October 26 at the age of 76, on Saturday.

Hamid Reza Naimi said that the books of the late author were the voice of the oppressed and the downtrodden, regretting that the society did not praise Mr Darvishian as much as he deserved. “I hope we will read his stories to our kids from now on that he does not live among us anymore,” Naimi said, Iran Theater reported.

 

The director hoped that Iranians do not forget Mr Darvishian despite that the officials had forgotten him

 

The Good Soldier Švejk’ is a multi-character play with more than 30 actors. is among important classic novels of the world in 20th century. It is written by Jaroslav Hašek (1883 –1923), a Czech writer, humorist, satirist and journalist. ‘The Good Soldier Švejk’ is an unfinished collection of farcical incidents about a soldier in World War I and a satire on the ineptitude of authority figures.

 

The Good Soldier Švejk’ is the story of a dog trainer who is summoned to war during the WWI. Švejk, who had been exempted from the military service because of his imbecility, decides to stop the war

The piece is being performed every day at 21:00 at Vahdat Hall. Hamid Reza Naimi is its director and Noreddin Haydari Maher the director of the plan.
