‘I Am Her’ Awarded at Spain’s Monolit Festivals

Mehdi Mashhour told Iran Theater that “International Talents” of Monolit Festivals, which was taking place in Barcelona, Spain on October 26 to November 2, hosted groups from Spain, Russia, Armenia, France and Iran.

‘I Am Her’ received the best performance award of the festival on Tuesday, he said, adding that Sayeh Theatre Group of Iran had two eight-minute performances ‘I Am Her’ and ‘Dance in Luggage’.

The festival, Mashhour said, was devoted to experimental and alternative performances with shortest time to transfer meaning.

‘I Am Her’ is designed and directed by Mehdi Mashhour. Shiva Mackinian and Mina Zaman starred in the piece.

Benyamin Esbati is an advisor to the director, Saeed Hassanlou set and costume designer and Sara Rasouli director of international affairs and Saman Khalilian the executor of the plan.

Medhi Mashhour and Saye Theatre Group had performed experimentally structured ‘The Door’ in France, Germany, Canada and the US. The play tells a story of the immigrant experience through the perspectives of two women who share the stage at all times, but never address one another.

Sayeh Theatre Group and Mashhour had performed ‘Man and Words’ in several countries too.
