Mohammad Reza Khaki about ‘Barefoot in the Park’
Hadis Fouladvand Acting Surprisingly Acclaimed
Mohammad Reza Khaki, theater director and university professor, was a guest who saw ‘Barefoot in the Park’, which is directed by Maryam Bagheri, on Friday.
He said that the play had shining acting and rhythm, especially by Hadis Fouladvand, Iran Theater reported.
The director told the public relations of the play that he was surprised by the accomplished acting of Hadis Fouladvan, a graduate of architecture, who had managed to picture her role through a good rhythm and acclaimed acting besides her husband (Rambod Shekarabi).
“One of the good points of the play was that its hilarious moments are plausible and away from exaggeration. The cast has a natural rhythm in their movements and dialogues…,” Khaki said, adding that the piece could establish a strong connection with spectators thanks to its simple design and good acting.
'Barefoot in the Park', a romantic comedy by American playwright, scriptwriter and author Neil Simon, opened at Paytakht Theater on October 16.
Rambod Shekarabi, Hadis Fouladvand, Marzieh Sadraei and Bahram Sarvarinejad star at the comedy, Iran Theater reported.
The 75-minute play is about a young couple Corie and Paul. They are a newlywed and for their first home, they live in an apartment on the top floor of a brownstone in New York City. During the course of four days, the couple learns to live together while facing the usual daily ups-and-downs. Then, they get involved into a bad quarrel, leading to Paul leaving home.

'Barefoot in the Park' premiered on Broadway in 1963, starring Robert Redford and Elizabeth Ashley. It was made into a film in 1967.
