34th Provincial Association Founded

The 34th office of provincial associations was opened in Arvand Free Zone in southeastern Iran with the support of the Iran Association of the Performing Arts to help promote theater in provinces.

Javad Mostakhdemi, treasurer of Iran Association of Performing Arts, told Iran Theater on Monday that the request to launch 34th provincial association in Arvand Free Zone was submitted by Abadan and Khoramshahr Association of Performing Arts to Iran Association of Performing Arts.

Iran Association of Performing Arts gave the go-ahead for opening of the new association, he said, adding that Armaghan Behdarvand, head of the Iran Association of Performing Arts, and Mahdi Shafiee, director general of Dramatic Arts Center, also agreed with the launch and members of the association were elected in a gathering on Sunday.   

Fifty out of 57 members of the association took part in the election to choose the members from seven candidates, Mostakhdemi said and added that Mohammad Hossein Marashi (36 votes), Mohammad Reza Qasemi (26 votes) and Abdullah Helliat (24 votes) elected as main members and Reza Zakeri (23 votes) and Saeed Talebi (21 votes) would serve as alternate members.

Mostakhdemi reminded that main members should meet in ten days to elect the head, deputy head and treasurer of the association and the result would be notified to Arvand Free Trade Zone Culture and Islamic Guidance Department, Tehran Association of Performing Arts and Dramatic Arts Center.
