Fatemeh Zolghadr, Tehran MP at Closing Ceremony of Hormuz Art Week

Hormuz Art Week closed at Baran Theater Complex on Thursday in a ceremony attended by officials and artists.

Mahdi Shafiee, director general of Dramatic Arts Center, Fatemeh Zolghadr, Tehran MP and a member of the parliament Cultural Committee, Saeed Asadi, director of Dramatic Arts Center for international affairs, and a number of artists and officials of southern Hormuzgan province took part at the ceremony, Iran Theater reported.  

A statement by Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Abbas Salehi was read at the ceremony in which he expressed condolences of the death of veteran folk music of southern Iran, Mohammad Hormuzi known as Khalou Mohammad Ghanbar.

Fahimeh Amanzadeh, director of Baran Theater, welcomed the participants, saying that contrary to the opening ceremony, which was full of joy and passion, the death of Khalou Mohammad Ghanbar made the closing ceremony sad.

"We have lived with Hormuz artists for one week ad I have learned a lot from them," she said, adding, "They are full of love and passion that have transferred it to us and we will not leave them alone as much as we can."

, Fatemeh Zolghadr, Tehran MP and a member of the parliament Cultural Committee, said that the bitter death of Khalou Mohammad Ghanbar during the week may put the spotlight on Hormuz, its art and Hormuzgan province and make the officials see them through new eyes.  

She expressed satisfaction because of arranging Hormuz Art Week, describing it as a positive move that helped her to make familiar with "kind people and artists" of the island, which is located in southern Iran in the Persian Gulf.
