Director of Dramatic Arts Center Expresses Condolences on Death of Ali Ramaz

May Stage to Shine Brighter

Mahdi Shafiee, director general of Dramatic Arts Center, expressed condolences on the death of veteran theater actor Ali Ramaz.

In a message on Friday, Shafiee expressed his sincere condolences to the family of Ramaz and theater society, Iran Theater reported.

The message read;

"Ali Ramaz, veteran theater artist, travelled from the world stage to the eternal home. We will remember him and lay him to rest with respect the man who had lived with theater many years and created brilliant roles. While expressing condolences to the respected family of theater and his relatives, I hope the stage of theater will shine brighter thanks to his years of efforts and experiences."

Ali Ramaz, veteran theater, cinema and television actor, died at the age of 90 in his home on Thursday.

Born in 1927 in Tehran, Ali Ramaz graduated from Tehran Sanati High School (Iran-Germany High School). Thanks to being familiar with renowned actors such as Ezatollah Entezami and late Houshang Beheshti, he found his way to stage. In 1948, he took theater courses with legendary theater director Abdolhossein Noushin for eight months. The classes were shut down. Ramaz entered Post, Telegraph and Telephone College. In 1968, he was admitted to the Fine Arts Faculty of Tehran University. He was graduated in 1972 with honors, receiving scholarship from Belgium. After his retirement in 1981, Ramaz continued his artistic career. He acted in several theater, cinema and television shows, movies and series. His last act in theater was a play directed by Hadi Marzban.

'Amir Kabir', 'Vazir Mokhtar', 'Morghe Hagh', 'One of Those Days', 'Long Autumn', 'Countdown', 'Trial', 'Passing the Redline' and 'Oppenheimer Matter' were his TV series. His movies include 'Parviz', 'Stary Sky', 'Mahtab's wedding', 'Long Autumn', 'From Bloody Glass', 'Foreign Exchange', 'Canary Yellow' and 'Meeting'.  

Ramaz played roles in all plays directed by Hadi Marzban. He had been a member of Action Group for more than three decades.

He will be laid to rest at 9:30, Sunday from Vahdat Hall.
