Final Line-Up of Three Sections

The secretariat’s earlier invitation had envisaged two parts; Iran competition in which directors with maximum three public performance participate; international competition in which directors with more than three public performance take part, Iran Theater reported. 

 

But the secretariat decided to increase it to three sections upon requests by applicants to compete. The new competitions include Iran Theater Competition (I): directors from Tehran with more than three public performance and those from other provinces considering their background, Iran Theater Competition (II): directors from Tehran with maximum three public performance and those from other provinces considering their background, International Theater Competition: directors with more than three public performance plus some foreign groups.

 

Iran stage plays in all sections of the festival include 25 plays in Tehran Theater Review, 29 plays in Provinces and Top Plays Review, 31 guest plays and four top plays of student festival.

 

A total 89 Iranian plays will take part in the section. Fifty-six of them will compete.

 

The share of each section is 17 plays from Tehran Theater Review, 19 plays in Provinces and Top Plays Review, 18 guest plays and two top plays of student festival.

Notes: The final lineup of Provinces Theater Review and award winners of provincial festivals, the background of directors and the votes of selection groups are taken into account.

The plays for the Tehran Theater Review sections were selected by a team of 70 experts while the background of the directors were also taken into account.

Iran Theater Competition has nine plays from Tehran Theater Review, seven from guest section, six from provincial review and award winners of the provincial festivals.
