An Interview with Reza Mahdizadeh, Set Designer
‘Hoteliha’ to Be Designed in February at Paliz Theater Complex
Reza Mahdizadeh, set designer, has designed shows for renowned directors such as Hamidreza Naimi and Pari Saberi. He is a graduate of set designing from Tehran University. He holds a master's in theater direction from Tarbiate Modarres University as well as Architecture from Islamic Azad University.
Mahdizadeh told Iran Theater that he is set of designer of two plays 'A Blue near Pink', which is directed by Sanaz Bayan and 'Fishabad', adding that 'A Blue near Pink' is a documentary with its details being performed at Paliz Theater Complex and 'Fishabad' was a social drama, which is directed by Cyrus Hemmati, which was started a few days ago at Sarv Theater Complex.
He said that the two plays are way different in structure.
Referring to the set designing of 'Hoteliha', Mahdizadeh said that the show was set to be performed at Paliz Theater Complex in late February by Hamid Reza Azarang.
Hamid Reza Azarang had staged the show two years ago at Iranshahr Theater Complex in which himself, Nasim Adabi, Sam Kaboudvand, Ayeh Kianpour, Setayesh Mahmoudi, Anahita Hemmati and Bahareh Kianafshar starred. "I have made new and different set design for the play," he stressed.
Asked on how he could handle volume of the design while the Paliz Theater Hall had several pieces successively, Mahdizadeh said that he would not pay much attention to this issue and everything should be done for set designing and audience.
