Iran Theater: Kayvan Nakhaei, writer and director of 'Tarabnameh of the City of Fantasy', opened his show since January. He believes the Persian theater style appeals to Iranian spectators because of its methods of storytelling and narration as well as interest of people to their rituals and traditions.
Kayvan Nakhaei, who has written 'Cul-de-Sac', 'Scarecrow' and 'Illusion', said that he opened his show, which had taken part at the 18th Ritual and Tradition Theater Festival, at Arghanoun Theater Complex.
He explained the idea of 'Tarabnameh of the City of Fantasy' occurred to his mind years before but he had preferred to rewrite it several times to increase accuracy in writing, adding that he collaborated with a group who have tried to present an acclaimed piece for the audience.
"Persian theaters have numerous and good techniques if they are performed correctly, Nakhaei said, 'Tarabnameh of the City of Fantasy' benefits from Takhte Hozi, Pardekhani and Ta'zieh.
The methods of storytelling and narration styles are significant features because interests of people in traditions and rituals, he said, adding that 'Tarabnameh of the City of Fantasy' tried to use these methods with thorough awareness.
About the cast, he said that one of the actors is changed. Majid Ahangaran was replaced by Shahram Masoudi. Other performers are Alireza Nasehi, Ali Yadollahi, Davoud Moeinikia, Saeb Dadou, Safoura Khoshtinat, Ali Beckmohammadi and Shayda RazmSho'ara.
Nakhaei said that he had chosen Arghanoun Theater Complex because it was opened recently and had a good auditorium with 150 seats.
'Tarabnameh of the City of Fantasy', he said, tells the story of a cultured lion who enters a town. The money of lion is stolen and he lodges a complaint to trial. But the fate leads him to start writing cooking book.
