Ezzat Mehravaran to Iran Theater:

'Actor Hamlet' to Be Staged Next Iranian Year

Iran Theater: Ezzat Mehravaran is a popular and acclaimed theater actor whose career include diverse roles in theater, cinema and television.

Mehravaran wrote and played 'Story of Zal and Roudabeh', which was directed by Maryam Kazemi in 2005. He had written 'Actor Hamlet' and 'Capable Lady Macbeth'. He had received numerous domestic theater awards.

Mehravaran told Iran Theater that he had written a monologue titled 'Actor Hamlet, which was going to stage it probably in the next Iranian year (to start in March 2018).

He said that the play was the story of an old actor who played the role of Hamlet for more than three decades but he did not suit the role because he was old. He gets depressed with no job, ending up in the hospital where he plays Hamlet every night when everyone is asleep.

Mehravaran said that he would play the role himself because it was attractive and he was rehearsing it now, hoping that the theater venue owners would give artists a space to perform rather than thinking of financial benefits.

About his role in 'Bachelor degree holders', Mehravaran said that he was pleased that his co-actors included Houtan Shakiba, Amir Hossein Rostami, Kazem Sayyahi and Siavash Cheraghipour while the series was directed by Soroush Sehhate, an acclaimed director of comedies.
