Theater Must Become an Independent & Vibrant Identity

Director of Dramatic Arts Center for provincial affairs said that theater should turn into an independent and dynamic identity to preserve its artistic authenticity.

Atabak Naderi, director of Dramatic Arts Center for provincial affairs, said that such identity would not be preserved unless the responsibility of organizing of festivals would be handed over to artists, Iran Theater reported.

Naderi, who was speaking at the closing ceremony of the Fadjr Provincial Theater Festival in Charmahal-Bakhtiari province, said that the event had helped artists to interact with each other in a non-competitive ambience and share their experience to improve quality of their plays.

He added that permanent theater venues have been launching gradually to reflect cultural identity of each province, thanking the provincial theater news website, which monitors theater activities of the province.

Naderi stressed that children theater would be a priority of Iran Performing Arts Association to help attract more audience, strengthen the family bonds and educate emerging artists.

Tribute paid to artists and theater officials of Charmahal-Bakhtiari province at the closing ceremony by Dramatic Arts Center of the Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministry and provincial Association of Performing Arts.

The 36th Fadjr International Theater Festival will open in Tehran on Thursday.
