Culture Minister Attends Closing Ceremony of 36th Fadjr International Theater Festival
Art Can Be Seen Everywhere in Today's Iran

The 36th Fadjr International Theater Festival wrapped up in a ceremony attended by Seyyed Abbas Salehi, minister of culture and Islamic guidance, at Vahdat Hall of Tehran on January 29.
Salehi said at the closing ceremony that theater was one of the few arts in which a human talks to another human not only with themselves, adding that it was an ancient art, which had occupied a special status among men throughout history.
"Man has recognized theater since he becomes civilized. Theater and civilization hold historical bonds," the minister said. "Theater is an art, which depends on human more than financial facilities. It had been and remain popular."
The official said that theater had begun with people, moved with them and had its roots among people, adding that it was an art of dialogue more than monologue.
"It is one of the few arts through which a man talks to another man not with himself. Theater is an influential social art, which reflects pains and hopes of people. It is an art formed in team and with society," the minister stressed.
Salehi said that Iran with several years of civilization boasts having theater such as naghali, pardeh khani, chavosh khani, takhte howzi since ancient times while its modern theater progressed step by step in the contemporary period.
