City Theater Complex Big Winner at Fadjr International Theater Festival

Seven out of 13 plays which won awards at the 36th Fadjr International Theater Festival had earlier been hosted by one of the auditoriums of the City Theater Complex.

The festival, which closed on January 31, awarded prizes to winners on Monday at Vahdat Hall at a ceremony attended by Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Abbas Salehi, Iran Theater reported.  

Ayoub Aghakhani and Mohammad Ghasemi received awards from the Islamic Revolution Values Preservation Foundation for 'Seven Evening of Seventh Autumn' and 'The Bluest Sky of Earth', respectively.

Martyrs Foundation awarded Kamran Shahlaei and Mohammad Larati for 'Seven Days of Tir-e 60'.

The above-mentioned plays had performances at Charsou Hall, Ejra Plateau and Sayeh Hall, respectively in recent months.

'The History Boys', which is written, designed and directed by Ashkan Kheilnejad, was staged at Charsou Hall. The piece received best direction and set design of the international section of the festival.

'Aquarium', directed by Siamak Ehsaei, had performances at Charsou Hall in recent weeks. It received an honorary diploma and best music for Ankido Darash and Baran Ehsaei of Iran Theater Competition (I) of the festival.

'Manus', which is co-written by Leila Hekmat and K-One Sarreshteh and directed by Nazanin Sahamizadeh, had performances at Qashqaei Hall of the City Theater in recent months. The piece awarded the best playwright of Iran Theater Competition (II) of the festival.

'Shelter', which is written by Sanaz Bayan and directed by Amin Miri, had performances at Qashqaei Hall of the City Theater in recent months. The piece awarded the honorary diploma for its acting team and the best jury award, best playwright and direction of Iran Theater Competition (II) of the festival.

'Verb', directed by Mohammad Rezaeirad, 'Two and a Half Clown' by Jalal Tehrani, 'Color-Blindness', directed by Siavash Pakrah, 'Enemy of God', directed by Emadeddin Rajablou, 'Caucasian Chalk Circle', directed by Mahmoud Reza Rahimi, 'Diabetes', directed by Leili Aaj, and 'Concealed from Tehran', directed by Mojtaba Karimi were other plays taking part at the festival and had perfomanes at different halls of the City Theater Complex.
