'Bongahe Theatral' at Shahrzad Theater Complex
'Bongahe Theatral (Theater Foundation)', which is written by noted Iranian actor, director and playwright, will be staged at Shahrzad Theater Complex in February and March.
Hadi Marzban, the director, will re-open his show on Thursday at 20:30 at Shahrzad Theater Complex, Iran Theater reported.
'Bongahe Theatral had close to 60 performances at Sangelaj Theater Complex in the summer and about 14,000 spectators saw the piece. It set the record of 52-year history of Sangelaj Theater Complex.
On the re-performance of 'Bongahe Theatral', Hadi Marzban said the play would remain loyal to the original text but changes made to the cast and the type of performance, expecting better outcome in new performances.
He hoped that 'Bongahe Theatral' and its warm welcome by audience would open a new chapter for Iran ritual and traditional theater and revive them, adding that the group tried to have popular faces of Iranian traditional performing arts in the re-performance despite complicated obstacles until the last moments.
"Two veteran actors Majid Mozafari and Rasoul Najafian have joined the team, which we take it as good omen," Marzban said, adding that Davoud Dadashi, a professional traditional and takhte hozi actor, had also joined the group.
The cast members include Majid Mozafari, Rasoul Najafian, Farzaneh Kaboli, Davoud Fathalibeigi and Davoud Dadashi as well as Amin Zendegani, Mir Taher Mazloumi, Majid Ghaffari, Saman Tirandaz, and a number of artists and theater students.
Other members of the team are Mohammad Vafaei executive director, set designer Reza Mahdizadeh, costume designer Sadaf Shojaei, composer Ali Al-Moalla, singer Majid Ghaffari, Mehri Asayesh, production assistant Akram Hajhosseini.
