Coordination Meeting of National Day of Performing Arts
Theater Activities to Begin on First Days of New Year
A meeting to coordinate programs for the national day of performing arts as well as new theater activities of the New Iranian Year which will start on March 21 was held.
Director general of Dramatic Arts Center, Mahdi Shafiee, and other theater officials, attended the meeting, Iran Theater quoted as Public Relations office of Dramatic Arts Center as reporting.
Shafiee referred to New Year holidays and the importance of the National Day of Performing Arts in the Iranian calendar and said that Iran theater community would celebrate the day along with the World Theater Day for the second successive year.
Artists of Tehran and other provinces would welcome the New Year visitors in their provinces, especially on March 27, which marks the National Day of Preforming Arts, the official said.
He stressed that the country's theater complex to reopen on the early days of holidays to have special celebrations to mark the National Day of Preforming Arts.
The first day of New Year will start with performance of comedies and the Overseeing and Supervision Council will issue permission for the stage and street performances sooner, the official said.
Directors of Sangelaj, Honar, Namayesh and the City Theater Complexes talked about their plans for the National Day of Preforming Arts.
Sangelaj Theater Complex will open on March 23 and the City Theater Complex and Honar Theater Complex on March 27.
