10 Foreign, 22 Iranian Judges Introduced
Press conference of Poster, Visual Identity and Photography Sections of the the 36th Fadjr International Theater Festival took place at the City Theater Complex on Sunday, February 25.
Amir Esmi, secretary of the sections, announced that 10 foreign and 22 Iranian experts would judge the artworks, Iran Theater reported.
The presser was attended by Farhad Mohandespour, director of the 36th Fadjr International Theater Festival, and Mahdi Ashena, executive director of the photography section.
Esmi started the press with airing videos to introduce jury members and final lineups of theater posters and advertisments and briefed the members of media about branding and visual identity seminar and an exhibition of the artworks at Qasr Garden Museum on March 3.
He explained that 57 artists with 182 posters applied for the competition of which 166 were qualified, adding that the works of the section would be judged by Majid Baluch, Barsowa Bashi, Reza Abedini, Amir Esmi, Javad Atashbari and Ali Baqueri from Iran and judges from Turkey, Germany, Thailand and Poland.
The theater advertisement section was put on the radar screen for the first time as the competition has become tough thanks to improvement in visual and creative tastes thanks to increase in the media and private theater venues, said Esmi, adding that 76 out of 93 applicants of the section are admitted and Anoushiravan Mirzaei, Habib Rezaei, Behnoud Allahverdi Nick, Arash Vafadari and Mohsen Valihi will judge the section.
Non-competitive section of the festival includes two specialized seminars on branding and visual identity in theater and personal branding will be held at 2 pm, March 6 and 2 pm, March 10 at Qasr Garden Museum.
Esmi said due attention was paid to photo section and numerous unofficial meetings were held with Photographer Association of Theater Forum in this regard.
Ashena said that 98 photographers with 472 photos applied for the competition, 456 of them were admitted. He added that Mahmoud Kalari, Seifollah Samadian, Akhtar Tajik, Masoud Pakdel, Ebrahim Sisan and Mahdi Ashena from Iran and judges from Netherlands, UK, Australia, Italy and Poland would judge the section.
