Director General of Dramatic Arts Center Attends

A Research Gathering about Eugene O'Neill

A research gathering to review and introduce plays by American playwright and Nobel laureate in Literature Eugene O'Neill took place at Mashahir Hall of the City Theater Complex in Tehran on March 5.

Mahdi Shafiee, director general of Dramatic Arts Center, Davoud Fathalibeigi, head of Ritual/Traditional Theater Center, and a number of theater lovers attended the gathering, Iran Theater reported.

Ata'ollah Koupal, theater director and university professor, run the gathering in which a short film about O'Neil was shown.

Farhad Nazerzadeh Kermani, veteran theater researcher and university professor, delivered the first lecture about "Techniques and Styles of Eugene O'Neill's Plays".

Farindokht Zahedi, translator, researcher and university professor, talked about "American Modern Drama and Importance of Eugene O'Neill".

Three theater students performed parts of 'The Hairy Ape' by O'Neil by reading the play.

The research dialogue was conducted by Reza Borbori, Mohammad Amn Andalibi, Helia Moshtagh and Maryam Mirhosseini about Eugene O'Neill.

Haniyeh Mehre-Motlagh and Saeed Asadi delivered the next lectures.

The second research dialogue was conducted by Masoumeh Ahmad Alikhan, Elaheh Makani, Ahmad Siah Rostami and Pegah Latifinia. Each one of them talked five minutes.
