Theater Can Have Deep & Enduring Influence on Audience
Director general of Dramatic Arts Center sent a message to the 2nd Sharhani Regional Street Theater Festival, saying that theater was among those arts which could influence the audience profoundly and long-lastingly.

It could be said daringly that theater is among the arts that can have deep and enduring impact on spectators. Its influence is of the nature of life with all its scents and smells. It is an art rooted in the ages but express its definitions by words, movements and signs.
The eight-year Sacred Defense (Iran-Iraq war (1980-88 is not long in term of history but its events and influences have penetrated into the soul of Iranians and freedom-seeking human of the world and is a reflection of determination, belief and love.
And this history in its monumental moments had seen heroic acts and trained heroes whose stories can be read in thick books.
And theater is responsible toward this major event to picture it with an eloquent expression, with honest words and fashionable and creative approach for the people of this and next generations of this land.
Understanding the idea and belief of the heroes of the Sacred Defense profoundly, avoiding sentimental and superficial approach and using the medium of theater correctly and creatively can pave the ground for making noble productions, which can attract today's audience with its delicate and deep taste sweetly and pleasantly.
I express my candid gratitude to all artists, officials and organizers of the 2nd Sharhani Regional Street Theater Festival and cherish the presence and cooperation of noble people of Ilam and Dehloran on the approaching days of spring and wish the compassionate God bless this land with success and honor.
